Customer Service Associate Person - Competencies Required


Applying for a job after graduation is an interesting phenomenon. Generally after graduation, an MNC job fetches a lot of money. Since I needed a job urgently I applied for one of these advertisements which read as 'Required a customer service associate'


Further it stated the competencies that are required for customer service associate person:


1. Good Communication skills
2. Good telephone etiquette
3. Graduate or an undergraduate of any field
4. Knowledge of the basic operations of the system 
5. Should have a minimum experience of 0-2 years

While reading the advertisement I also found the KRA i.e. the key responsibility area being stated as:


1. Assisting customers with their complains
2. Answer the telephone queries promptly
3. Assist the clientele as they enter the office
4. Perform office responsibilities like filing, drafting, data management, editing office memos
5. Assist all the office administrative duties


In order to apply for this job I had to understand the mannerism of resume. I read a Sample Resume for a Customer Service through which I got a clear idea for preparing my resume. 


I applied for the job according to the template that I had prepared after reading samples. I got the job and now I am working as a customer service associate handling the office administrative duties, answering the client's queries and complaints. 


In order to achieve credibility at this post at the initial stage I was trained on communication skills, telephone etiquette, pronunciation and diction required to handle the customer’s complaint and queries, a rough idea of multitasking and being efficient for each and every task.  So if you are going for interview to a similar post prepare a customer service associate resume that include similar qualities as mentioned above.


This job has given me recognition in the society. Though people consider an MNC service as a tuff job but then stress helps you to achieve the desired growth. It asks you to stretch your capacities and test yourself at every step.
