How to write a good farewell letter

A Farewell letter is written in order to bid good-bye by someone who wants to leave or change his job. A letter contains your past graceful memories. It is written to express your emotions and feelings of gratitude towards your teammates. It contains some of your personal information e.g. your date of leaving, contact number, email id etc. Also, your expression of your gratitude about what the company has given you. You are not supposed to complain against anyone, as it is a farewell letter. Be positive in your approach.

Some tips on how to write the Farewell letter are as follows.

·      Start your letter with date, name and address of both sender as well as receiver.
·      Insert the salutation followed by the name of receiver. You may start with Dear Jack etc.
·      The tone of your letter should be good natured and positive
·      The first paragraph declares your decision and reason that why you are leaving the job.
·      The middle section expresses your gratitude about your co-workers for their support and help in your job.
·      The last section could be about your future plan.
·      At the end of the letter, convey your best wishes for all people as well as you can end your letter with a positive note or a humorous note. Do not forget to sign at the end.
